The HWMA has produced a guidance document on UN packaging for plastic clinical waste bags. This is published as an assistive document for buyers and users of clinical waste bags and defines the correct way to identify genuine UN certificate approval markings as well as providing a list of current approvals. It follows a period (during COVID) where the NHS relaxed purchasing rules, opening the door for non-genuine and substandard products.
